are flat bench DB flys and incline DB flys good for trying to put size on the chest

yes....they are. dumbbell incline flys also work the shoulders as well, so your getting a 2 for 1 deal. just make sure you are using smooth and controlled motions, and squeezing at the top. u can use cables as well, i suggest a mix of both. i vary mine from week to week to keep my body guessing.

just out of curiosity, is it better to keep ur arms straight or a bent while doing flyes... i usually keep mine bent

bending takes some of the strain off your shoulders which torque a bit when keeping them straight.

flyes are really good for pre-exaughsting the chest as well for bench press when usually the shoulders are first to give out as they are a smaller support muscle group in the bench press movement.

Keep in mind they are a assistance excersize. In other words these are not what you should be relying on to put the bulk of your chest size on.

Agree on keeping the arms slightly bent.

Totally disagree with the pre-exaustion concept. Why would you pre-exhaust a musle group prior to doing the biggest mass building and heaviest excersize. They don't cal auxillary movements finishing excersizes for nothing. Sorry mygeeto.

some people complain of triceps burning out before the chest does, im simply letting them check out thier options.
i personaly dont do it myself. i do my flyes AFTER my benching.
