gripping the bar for close grip benching for triceps, how for apart or how close do your put your hands from eachother?? thank you!

the close grip i usually leave about 6 to 8 inches in between.

I'm a little wider across, so I usually leave about 10 inches.

Use a grip that's narrow, but comfortable. There's no point using a grip so narrow that your wrists hurt.

Narrow grip for me is as close to the smooth part as possible but without touching it, so maybe about a foot.

About shoulder width. You want your forearms to be vertical when you lift, if you go closer you put a lot of stress on the wrists.
