I was wondering what you guys used to keep track of your training records. I see all kinds of books, notebooks and sheets in the gym so I was wondering what serious people such as yourselves use.

Personally, I use "The Weight Training Record" by Jim Bennett. It's got a great layout to keep my measurements and rep/weight records.

However, I just looked it up on Amazon and the thing costs $42! I got mine free during a bench press competition and had no idea that something like this was so valuable. Hoping to get some cheaper options from you guys. Thanks in advance for any forthcoming responses.

Christophmuscle actually threw a training log up here before...ill see if i can find it, i use his. However once i use it i come home to my marble notebook and write down everything i did, if im in my bulking stage i write down everything i eat as well to make sure i'm keeping up my calorie intake.

I just keep a log online with the following template.

____________________________________________

Day and date

exercise: weight x reps / weight x reps etc. - note about how it felt

- overall comment about the workout

hi,
Not sure for reps and workouts, but i keep a detailed macro nutrients guide and exercise amount. I use excel for this, and have rigged the formula to give me a last 7 days run down.
http://www.sleepingplanet.com/fatbloke/fatbastard.xls

(unhide the columns to see how the targets are set)

I use calorieking.com to keep track of what i eat, i've found it realy really helpful. basically sign up, then ignore the calorie intake thing, click nutritional targets link at the bottom of the calorie box and enable the ones you want.

e.g. i set mine to Fat:98 Protien:185 Carbs:220 and during the day the little bars fill up and tell me how close i am to hitting my goal.

*no the buffometer column isn't based on anything other than how I'm feeling.
