it all depends on your age. yes, weight gainer will help you gain mass, but the fat part of your question will come from whatever diet that you are eating. if you eat a shit load of mcdonalds then your going to gain fat, while if you eat properly, you'll gain lean muscle mass. remember that when you work your legs, your body releases more natural growth hormone so i train one of my week body parts with it, which is my biceps. your body also produces more testosterone naturally on leg day so keep that in mind. as far as the other supplements that you should take, i'd reccomend: creatine, why, bcaa's, glutamine, and a good NO2 product, along with your multivitamin, fish oil, and flaxseed oil.

The weightgainer will help you to get the extra calories if you find it hard to get them from solid foods.
There is nothing special about wightgainers they just up your calorie intake. You still need a good diet and training program.

I am currently takign Cytosport Cytogainer and basically i take it twice a day. Its adding muscle mass basically becasue my diet is clean. Plus the extra carbs and calories give you a little more energy in the gym. So basically eat right while your on it.

I take IDS smartgainer for post workout and thats it. Now I eat like a mofo during the day so I am not really big on taking a shake when I can have food, remember they are called supplements not replacements they are there to supplement your diet, not replace it. On that note I know its hard to eat real food every 2-3 hours, so yeah shakes are good in that case. Just becareful with the gainers because you don't want to take so much that you get extremely fat. My suggestion to you would be to get 2 different kinds (assuming your wallet can allow it) One gainer that is fast digesting which you would take immediately after your workout, the other would be a slower digesting gainer like Cytogainer or TruMass which you can take really anytime during the day. I would becareful about taking a gainer before bed because although it will add mass it will mostly be fat, because your body won't be able to burn all those extra calories and carbs during the night. Now if you don't mind that, then take a slow digesting gainer before bed. Best of luck, just remember 85-90% of your gains are from diet alone, get that straight and then add a gainer, you should be looking at gains real soon.

DO NOT TAKE IT BEFORE BED...as tallgainer said, its going tobe stored as fat...and be tough to work out...my opinion is early AM upon wakeup, and again mid day

a 12lb bag of Serious Mass will pack it on you; just dont live on the stuff. Anything that supplements 1,000's of calories a day just sounds like heart clogging stuff.
