i workout each muscle once a week and give each muscle group a whole day to workout on its own to get the best out ofmy workouta nd really focus on that specific muscle. my split is as follows:
monday:chest
tuesday:back
wednesday:shoulder-traps
thursday:tricep
friday:bicep
saturday:quads
sunday-calves-hams

since i give each muscle a week of rest, do you gusy think too much rest will affect me in gains or strength? is it wrong to rest this much? thanks

it's not wrong to only train a muscle possibly once every 7 days. some people need that much rest on specific body parts to feel 100% again.

however, your split is not beneficial for rest overall. you should have at the very least ONE FULL DAY a week where you do not engage in any lifting. this allows your body to recuperate. most people have 2 or maybe even 3

for example my split goes:
day 1- chest/bi's
day 2- legs/abs
day 3- shoulders/forearms
day 4-rest
day 5- back/calves
day 6- tri's/bi's
day 7- rest

this way you have at least 2 days for your body to replenish itself. im not saying you should follow this split because everyone likes there own, but the 2 days rest are very neccesary.

Eh...I go by feel men...Always use the common sense approach...I usually go to the gym and keeping going consecutive days until I have no available muscle groups that aren't sore. Your body will let you know when it's ready again. Just keep hitting the gym harder than shit and eating like a wild man. It's taken me so many years to finally realize this bodybuilding stuff isn't as complicated as many make it out to be. Intensity is what's gonna make you grow...unfortunately no person on this board can give you the secret to that...you have to have the fire already burning inside you. So now go fuck some shit up and rest when you need to.
