Hello all,

Just had another question about deadlifts, when i do them hours later get a pain in the lower back like im already sore and lasts for i'd say a couple days. I was just wondering if that normal or if im doing the deadlifts wrong or too heavy or something any info would be great : )

Thanks much

Sounds normal to me. I'm usually pretty sore until the weekend if I do deads on Tuesday. Try stretching after. It'll help you recover and activate more muscle growth.

Check out DoggCrapp if you think you can handle it. It shows extreme stretching.

Yeah thats bad. Your form was probably a little off or you pulled one side more than the other. If it doesent feel like a pinching pain then you are Ok just give that exercise some rest or go light.

good advice Ace

Also try this stretch. Your muscles are probably knotted or tense from the lift. Lay down on the floor bend one leg slightly until your foot is flat but you knee is elevated looking like the leg is pointing up. Then take the other leg and pull your foot in unitlthe foot is resting on your knee and that leg is pointing outward. then with you hands pull the outward knee up in the direction of your face. Hard to explain but executed right will stretch thentire lower back including the upper glutes. Man does this feel good after deadlifts.

I had the same pain when I stared my new cycle of back exercises. I asked one of the trainers at my gym and he told me it is normal to be a little stiff after and even the next morning untill the back is conditioned to doing what your doing. Listen to your body though, pain can be normal or a warning sign.
