Hello,

I've been using all kinds of split routines for 2 years now and I wanna try something new. I've read a few articles on this forum that full body would be better than a split routine. This convinced me to give it a try.

I train at home and don't have fancy machines.

The equipment I have:

Powerrack
Bench (flat, incline and decline)
Olympic Barbell, 2 Dumbbells, EZ curl bar
450 lbs of weights

That's why I'd like to stick to the basic compound excercises. Training would be 3 times a week on mondays, wednesdays and fridays.

Squat 10-8-6
Deadlift 10-8-6
Benchpress 10-8-6
Militairy Press 10-8-6
Bent-over Row 10-8-6

My goal is muscle mass, that's why I want to stick to the 10-8-6 reprange.

Please comment

That should work but 3 times is a lot. Sometimes I do full body routines and sometimes an upper/lower body split.

The full body I do twice a week, if did it three times I would overtrain.

You could throw in some crunches and calf raises.
Also I would put deadlifts at the end, if you do squats then deads you will probably have no energy left to finnish the workout.

I'm not sure how my body will respond to this kind of training yet but I think I can handle it.

I used to train 5 times a week using a split.

And what about Tricep Extensions and Bicep Curls?

Maybe it's even better to do both squats and deadlifts at the end then?

Thanks for your reply!

full body x3 weekly is a good program so long as one of those days the emphasis is more on legs and just simple work for back and chest

Personally, I doubt you'll be able to handle the volume unless you recover incredibly fast.

I think very quickly you'll have to either squat or deadlift on a given day, rather than do both.

But good luck, imo that's a much better routine than most that get posted here.

Good luck bro, Just listen to you body and do your workouts accordingly. You may find splitting it to upper / lower works better for recovery purposes.. But its a do it and see how you feel type of thing...
