Not in my gym they don't. Every now and again someone will do squats but deadlifts are unheard of.

It's called fitness first. They have plenty of weights, I just wish they would play better music.

i do them in same workout as well, deadlift finishes off my back workout and warms up my legs for squats. it just helps me transition from back to legs to do it this way. lol, just remember to breath or youll be on the ground in no time, found that out the hard way.....

it's perfectly fine to do that... I usually do either supersets of squat and clean in which case I don't do deads, but if I don't do cleans I always do deads to finish off squats

I actually do deads and squats the same day. I do deads first because I feel they're a great way to warm up my leg muscles. Also, I've only been doing deads for about 2 years (even though I've been training for 9), so I'm trying to build up some strength.

Also, I can't do full squats anymore due to a miniscus tear (cartilidge in the knee), so I only do half squats. If I could still do full squats, then maybe I wouldn't have the energy to do both deads and squats in the same session.

Lest any of you wonder, I still do full squats without any weight whenever I feel like it, just to keep those muscles strong so if I ever have to squat down all the way for whatever reason, I don't fall down due to those muscles being weak.

imo it's not a great idea to squat and deadlift if you're using an otherwise typical bb routine. They're the two most important exercises and deserve a day of their own.

^^^^
have you had surgery yet to remove the damaged cartilage? Post-surgery you should be fine to squat as deep as you like.

I went to 3-4 doctors and they all said the same thing: Surgery isn't necessary. They all said that removing the cartilage will give me arthritis a lot sooner in life than if I leave it alone. So basically I'm gonna get the arthritis down the road anyway. My choice is to leave it alone and worry about it when I'm much older, rather than getting it sooner.
