I find to get the best out of deadlifting I need to do them early in my back routine, however, when I do this I feel weak on all the exercises for the rest of that session.

Jay Cutler does Deadlifting every other week, does anyone else do that and is it beneficial?

I mean, is it worth really going for it one week on the deadlifting and then the other week work more on the lats and traps etc?

I do deadlifts every week bro. Sure, I end up feeling like i just been run over by a truck but that's because deadlifts are such a great excercise for your whole body... For me, deadlifts every week works beyond ok.

Deads every week is good. The back is such a complex and large muscle group, it can be worked every week.

I do it every other week but my suggestion is that its up to you. How do you feel doing it every week? For me hitting it every week is too much but for others might not.

I do it every week... but if you still want to do the lift you can do straight legs one week then deep deadlifts the next and keep switching

^this idea sounds alright in theory, but it really shouldnt be used if you want to hit the back hard. heres why:

while Romanian deadlifts and straight legged deadlifts are great exercises, they don't hit the back the same as a conventional deadlift bro. RDL's bring in more hamstring and glute emphasis, and Straight legged brings in more of a thigh focus. trust me, if your looking for the whole package deads every week.

Well I cant do heavy deads every week but thats my body. I have a question mabey you guys can help me out. Ever since I did a couple cycles with Superdrol I had some crazy M1Tish back pumps and took taurine which helped a little. But ever since then even off cycle my lower back gets pumped to quick and I feel to much thats why I do heavy deads every other week. What do you guys think?

agreed Justlift... I meant conventional deadlifts by saying deep deadlifts, I didn't mean RDL's but I do agree with what you are saying

all up to how your body responds to it. switch up the routine. you dont necessarily have to do them at the begining of your back workout..do them at the end next week. eventhough you wont use the same weight you can work on your form for next time around and really get the feel for it

^^I always do them at the end. They're good burnouts for later. I can feel them when I'm driving home from the gym.

I think I'm gonna take the advice from teamorbit. I appreciate all of the feedback but when I deadlift I like to deadlift really heavy so doing them at the end of the session is not an option for me.

I'll try it every other week for a couple of months and post another thread to let you know how I get on.

One more question, what is the difference between straight leg deadlift and romanian deadlifts?

Well straight leg dealifts are performed with lighter weight putting more focus on the hamstrings.

Thats another thing I was going suggest try every other week. Or Heavy deads on back day 1 week and hamstring machine on leg day for hammies.

Then in week 2 on leg day do straight leg deadlifts ofr hams and s
