If you have to do cardion in your weight session do it after the workout. You dont want to depleate your self of nutrients while your lifting heavy weights. If you have to do cardio after the workout, try and sipp on a protein shake.

never do cardio before a workout..not even as a warmup...it will deplete your glycogen stores needed for your workout session. If you use up your glycogen stores (body's fuel) in your cardio you will not be able to lift heavier weights. Lighter weights= smaller muscles, heavier the weight=bigger the muscle gets. Studies show doing cardio after workout raises gh levels and it will tap into your fat stores for energy which is a good thing.

everyone is correct.

however, for even better fat loss try doing cardio first thing in the morning and not even after your workout. Do it on an empty stomach, and you will see results.

doing cardio on an empty stomach is good for fat but you pay for the energy burned with muscle as well. Make this a habit and it could slow gains. If you want the fat burning benefit but want to save as much muscle as possible, drink some protein (no more than a few carbs or it defeats the purpose) about 30 minutes prior. It doesnt have to be alot, say 15-20 grams mixed in a little water. This will put aminos into your bloodstream and help to prevent your body deciding that some of the muscle proteins looks like a good energy source at that moment.

If you consume carbs and i'm pretty sure you do, then in the morning when you wake up consume 10-15 grams BCAA's. Spiking bcaa blood plasma can stop cortisol release dead in it's tracks. Also consuming, like the others before have said, 15-20 grams (carb-free) protein is safe plan. After about 20-30 minutes do some high intensity interval training (H.I.I.T.) to one: burn calories, two: provide a metabolic boost for the rest of the day. For days where the only time you have is after a workout do more heart-rate controlled activities like the stationary bike, treadmill, etc. This will reduce the chances of muscle catabolism while burning fat stores directly.
