Hi guys, just curious about what the dumbbells are like in your gym, and what you look for in a dumbbell. Personally, I can't stand those db's with rubber plates.

My gym has dumbbells up to 140. At the moment that's plenty enough for me for everything bar farmers walks and shrugs, but I'll probably need more in a year or two.

Most gyms around me only have db's up to 100 or 110, is this what it's like everywhere else?

i hate the dumbbells that have part of the bar sticking out, when you are on your own and need to raise them up with ur legs to your chest for dumbbell press, it really hurts

Iwork out a Golds. Need I say more. lol But they do have the rubber dumbells.I dont mind, it feels a lot better with 130s on you knees than solid dumbells.

At my school we have the bells up to 110, which sucks. But at my gym, we have bells up to 200 (I think they're finally in) but those are like kryptonite to everyone except me and these two Hans und Frans guys than come in.

I hate Bally's Too many chicks (not that I'm complaining) and their maximum weight for DBs is like 80lbs. I can't do anything besides curl with those.

125's up in my gym... I like the things you're saying beefcake, that's the same thing for me with 70 pound db's up to 4 reps before losing form
