It's not 100% necessary to train calfs on a different day, but it's good for defining the muscle. If you want mass added, train calfs with legs at the very end. I say the end because they'll already be pre-exhausted from the squats, leg presses, hack squats, etc. And as we all know, calfs only grow with high reps and heavy weight. Having them already warmed up will aid in the muscle shock. Training them on a different day is good too because you can concentrate on them alone and not worry about the rest of the legs. It's really up to how you like to train them. To each his own I suppose. |
