I like the ambition but no, abs are built in the same manner as the rest of your muscles. Therefore, they need rest - obviously not as much rest as your legs, however. Train them every couple of days - and use weight if you want, that way you'll feel a little sore the next day!
My favorite is to superset the abs. I perform Hanging leg raises, weighted crunches on the physio ball, and bicycle's while holding a weight behind my head..do that 3 times and you'll feel the burn

I usually do a little for my abs each workout day. One day I will do crunches, the next leg raises, etc. Never the same exercise everyday. 75-100 reps total each day. rest on the weekend. WOrks for me but you may need more or less.

I agree with you jalmy 8. The Abs should be trained like any other muscle part.

Agreed, but abs are also like any other muscle too, they need to be trained with weight, just like arms would be trained, or chest would be trained, or any body part would be trained.

The word "overtrain" seems to get thrown around here like it's going out of fashion. It's such a buzz word these days, too often misused and misdiagnosed.

Look at the question asked, "is it ok to overtrain these(abs)?". Pretty obvious it's not ok to overtrain them, why would you overtrain anything.

Training abs daily is not overtraining if you are able to recover from it. Training them every second day IS overtraining, if the individual can't recover in time.

The "o" word says nothing about frequency, volume, intensity or duration of a workout. It simply represents an imbalance over time between work and recovery.

No. It's not okay to overtrain abs.
Yes. In some cases people get good results from training them daily. I prefer to train them like everything else.

Sorry to rant, but seeing the word overtrain in every second post has been getting on my nerves.
