Pullovers will expand the rib-box and chest length. But like Ken said, just work with what you have.

pullovers and work on your back. A solid back will give the impression of a bigger frame.

In my Opinion, pullovers expanding the rib cage is a huge myth. Simply because arnold used them doesn't mean anything (this was a long time ago folks, before scientists joined the game). Your ribs are attached together (ribcage) and are in your body to protect the heart, dumbbells will not cause them to grow bigger..and thats the same for your chest plate. Don't mean to sound so opinionated but until I have some science to back up the facts...

Theres no easy answer bro. Hit the gym, keep a notebook to record your lifting sessions, watch your nutrition, and stay focused..thats the true answer!

Arnold had a massive chest..thanks to genetics..but no enhanced ribcage:

I've wondered about the whole "pullovers and breathing squats to expand the rib-box" thing myself. I've never read any science about them, but people swear by them.

Might just have to try them and see if they work.

When you are very young the cartlidge between your rib cage is soft and easily expandable to allow for growth, ( but not at bodybuilding level) ,, as you get older it hardens and is not expandable at all.

I have 2 kids that are young, my son is doing heavy sets of pullovers nightly,, to get a massive chest early..

ehehhehhehe,, j/k.. lllllloooooooooollllllllllloooooooooolllllll

Chris

Great post Chris I was about to say the same thing. Thats why I asked how old he was because of what you stated. The rib cage can be stretched to look like a natural v shape if starting young and done consistently.

Yeah you cant get a huge chest from A big rib cage. I think most of us have seen learge bodybuilders with small pecs.

Jalmy8
I dont think arnold did them because he wanted to expand his rib cage bro. The PULLOVER exercise is one of the best for hitting the SERRATUS muscles and giving you those sick finger when doing a double bicep pose.
