I agree. But I anything you do keep confined to your training. And dont do pushups on your offdays. You need to let your body rest. When your bulking you want to avoid too much cardio, only do it to mantain cardiovascular condition.

Both are fantastic exercises to pre-exhaust the muscle and prevent injury.

Max pullups: 22 (SEMPER FI!)

you should always include pullups in your back training..those are a great mass builder for your overall back..

pushups can be a great exercise to totally fatigue your chest or tri's after either workout.

Pull ups are a good mass builder. Push ups are proberbly too easy for most people, parallel bar dips would be better. Do them on your training days.

pullups are a great excersize..try weighted if strong enough. Pushups are OK when done appropriately, i.e. try performing weighted pushups (have your workout partner, if you have one, throw a 45 plate on top of your back). I tend to use both pushups and pullups on my dynamic/repitition upperbody day as opposed to my Max Effort Upper body day. Using both a max effort and a max repetition day allows you to build strength and mass all year round, just mix up your excersizes every 2-3 weeks.

if you got a partner do some pushups weighted, just throw a plate on your back and go to down...good shock every once in awhile

I like pull ups a lot (18 is my personal best, but that was awhile ago), I usually do 3 sets, working to 3X8, at which point I'll start adding weight. I only do push ups if I'm getting ready for a PT test.

Hate pullups. i still struggle to do them on my own. i guess i really need to pick it up. as far as pushups, i dont really do them at all on off days. id do 20 to warm up on chest days but thats about it.
