what is the key to building bigger arms?

i know there are various excersises, for building your biceps, concentration curls, seat curls, alternating curls and using a machine.but i read in other peoples threads about people who go to the gym with the intent to build bigger arms but dont get any growth, some people say they are working arms too much, but is a good half an hour session on biceps a week enough? or too little and how many different bicep excersises should i be doing? and how many reps sets etc?

dont want to be training and doing it wrong!

i personlaly train mine twice a week one heavy, one light

Tuesday - heavy
EZ preacher curls x 3
Incline d b curls x 3
Db Hammer curls x 3

Saturday - light
Naked olympic bar x 2
EZ 21's x 2
Rope hammer curls x 2

The key is variation m8 thats wot i find works best and to hit it from different angles, ie, EZ bar or straight bar, close grip, wide crip, hammer or not and so on

The key to building bigger arms, well the same to building a bigger body really....PROGRESS.

If your current best barbell curl is 6 reps with 20kg and you eek out 7 reps a few workout later without cheating ( a little cheating helps but don't break your back,be honest with yourself), you are progressing.

That being said, most people find that blasting your triceps/biceps does little to encourage arm growth. You need to really build a bigger body to support bigger arms.

I think that training your biceps half an hour a week is good, as long as you keep it INTENSE... Regarding excercises I think, and many people also, that barbell curls are the best to pack mass. I try to do them at the begging of my bicep rut, then I move to preacher curls, then some dumbells. I do 3 or 4 excercises and reps go from 10 to 12.

arms are so difficult to make grow and they dead easy to overtrain. i like straight bar curls for building mass
