hello all
I am after a decent weight bench with lat pulldown/cable attachment and preacher curl attachment etc.

I liked the look of the york 520 etc but am having trouble finding a place to buy it from in QLD Australia

I am after a bench that has as many uses as possible (if it has a squat rack built in that would be handy too etc!)

does anybody else know which other brands and models are decent and where to go to get them for a GOOD price??

Im in QLD Australia
and have a max of $500 to spend on the bench it self (I already have barbell and dumbells and weights)

thanks everyone hope you can help!

I'm not sure you're going to be able to find a bench with all those features for under $500. For that price you're going to have to choose which features are more important and compromise.

Steer clear of the bodymaker stuff that's being flogged on ebay, the benches are cheap crap that break very easily.

bowflex is decent, thats by cables...be careful though because you dont want a universal machine that does alot, those tend to be cheap...i say get a flat bench, a ab ball, and use your money on dumbells, bench with the dumbells on the ball for stablization support, flys, back exercises and so on and so forth, not to mention the many uses for the flat bench, there are tons so just be creative...

i already have a set of dumbells and barbell with enough weight(for now)

and just need the bench to use it on
the york520 im looking at has attachments that slide into between where your legs go
where the leg extension/curl attachment goes(its interchangable)
and then you can remove that and put in the preacher curl pad(it comes in the package with the lat pulldown cable attachment)

see how i go i spose

thanks for your help guys!

I have a weider smith machine I bought from a sporting good company called Dick's sporting goods, has a lat pulldown / low cable for rowing and can hold up to 405 on the fixed bar.. I slide my modified bench under it and Wa La.. I'm good to go..

The smith machine costed me 200 us dollars and i had an olympic style squat rack bench that I cut them off to make fit inside the cage..

works well for me..

I work for a fitness company that sells equipment. I recomend that you stay away from anything sold at a department store..... I don't think you'll be able to find something new fro that price. Also make sure it has a big enough weight rating to handle what you are lifting. Look at Lifefitness, Parabody and Hoistfitness. I do agree that a gym membership may be the best choice for you
