I have a question.

How much do you guys sweat during our workouts? Some days more then others? Do you drip sweat or simply just get really hot breath hard? If you don't sweat, does that mean you didn't get a good workout?

For me personally, I don't sweat too much. Maybe if I'm struggling with the last few reps on a heavy weight, then I'll dry up in a few minutes. But the thing is, I've gained 15lbs in 2 months, and I'm not one to sweat buckets. My question is, if I found a way to sweat more, would that improve my progress even more?

Some people are different when it comes to sweating. I know a bodybuilder that doesent really sweat. I wear a sweater or long sleeve shirt when I workout so I usually sweat a lot. Keep the muscles warm.

It all depends on how hot the gym is and the intensity I'm going at. If I'm having a ****ty day and my intensity just isn't there, I won't sweat much at all. However, most of the time that isn't really the case. Yesterday, I was having trouble seeing because I had so much sweat pouring into my eyes. Of course it was also 97 degrees outside yesterday too. So hot!!

Sweating happens when your body gets too hot and it needs to cool down. You know that, and it's for homeostasis so your body can keep at a stable level.

The only real advantage to trying to sweat would be if your trying to get a little more salt out probably.

I have to use that at work tomorrow somehow.

"homeostasis"

PS Oops I meant to talk about sweating too.

It seems only when I work legs, like really hard do I sweat. And it is different on different days how much I sweat.

Sweating is also your body’s ability to cool down faster.
The old myth is if you aren’t sweating you aren’t working. Rubbish. If you've taken your muscles to reasonable failure then that’s more important than just getting wet, to prove you've worked hard!! Sometimes you sweat more sometimes you don’t.

I sweat when I put less time between sets, get my heart rate up and keep moving.. Sweating is your bodies way to cooling off. Keep drinking water alot of it, you don't want to dehydrate!
