Hi folks ...recently i read one article about lactic acid that said its necesary for hyperthrophy ..that this substance release growth hormone and testosterone ...that a set must last betweesn 30 -90 seconds ..buts is it necesary to train for fatigue ..or is it better to pound ?

Training properly has a very fine line to walk before you go into training into fatigue. You can work out until your barely walking and thats not always whats best.

I've read studies that say that lactic acid buildup is the point at which you have trained to some limit and not exactly the cause of not being able to train anymore.

Your sets should last around a minute.

Around a minute. In the high 40 to 50ish range. And it all depnds on how many reps there are in a set. But something like 2 seconds up, a pause, then 1 second down.

The set starts when you first begin lifting the weight into position and ends when you have set the weight to a complete stop. In between doesn't mean 10repsx6 seconds=1 minute. It means all together. Some sets are more then 10 reps and other are less. What you should be trying to do is keep the muscle under stress as long as possible with proper technique. Otherwise your just wasting your time.

In a way you don't want lactic acid to build up for too long, because it is catabolic and eats away at the muscles. Thats why it is painful, it's called the burn.
