shrugs shrugs shrugs.........

it's been been awhile since i hit them myself cos i think they over developed a bit but to get them that way i mostly did smith machine shrugs: do a set with the bar to the front then i used to go straight into a set of behind the back......never quite got into db shrugs but some say they're excellent.

never ever rotate your shoulders, just straight up & down does the trick, roughly the same movement but safer for your shoulders in the long run.

If you pause at the top of the movement it adds a little extra burn to it also!

Our lifting coach has us do what he calls "work the rack." Start with a low weight at the dumbbell rack and do 6 reps, then go straight to the next highest weight and do 6 reps, and so on until failure. Rest a couple of minutes and do it once or twice more. I guarantee you'll feel it in the morning.

It ends up being pretty high volume tho so make sure to just throw it in every now and then

My traps hit a little slump, so I tried something new that got them growing again. I work my way up until I get to 405 and then hit 3 good sets and then I drop the weight and do 2 sets (super set) with 135 shrug and 135 up right row. I do traps and shoulders on the same day so it just pumps the hell out of the whole shoulder area.
