hi all.
i have a question about rest..

i dont know if you guys saw the movie '300'
about the spartan war at the hot gates a long time ago..
well anyway, all the actors look great. They all are very muscular and have great abs, chest, back...
so i looked up the training scedule of these actors, and i found out something. They didn't rest at all. they all finished their training as fast as they could, no rest between sets (they only did 1 set of each exercise and moved to the next exercise actualy) and no rest between different exercises. one of them completed his total training in 17 minutes or something like that.

now is my question: the less you rest the better? or am i wrong?

(for everyone who's interested, here is the training scedule)
a) Pullups - 25 reps

b) Deadlifts with 135lbs - 50 reps

c) Pushups - 50 reps

d) 24-inch Box jumps - 50 reps

e) Floor wipers - 50 reps

f) Single-arm Clean-and-Press with 36lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps

g) Pullups - 25 reps

all without resting

The reason for bodybuilding why you rest is because you are probably going to do the same muscle group in a set right after you do a set, if not you are probably going to use stabilizers from a certain muscle group.

You don't wanna bench 10 reps, not rest and only rep 4 of the same weight directly after. That has full body work in it. You honestly won't see many bodybuilders who do full body.

Yeah little big and Wolfy got it.

Most of the workouts they do are all full-body explosive conditioning. Here is the link to one of the videos of some of their workouts.

youtube.com/watch?v=uy2ElkOuNF0

They are mostly working fast-twitch muscle fibers in their workouts and burning a lot. I know some bodybuilders talk about incorporating a few fast movemment exercises in their workouts trying to work fast-twitch muscles. Some of these exercises would probably be beneficial especially while doing cardio. It would be interesting to hear if anyone is doing any of these and the results they are getting.

Reminds me of football/basketball conditioning.
