I am not sure what being sweaty has to do with anything..?

I guess I don't understand the correlation/your problem. You have to get <10% to see abs. Diet can do that for you.

Could you describe in more detail "pain w/o sweat."

You'll sweat when your body is too hot. If you can work and not sweat thatmuch then you should consider yourself lucky. Being hairy and sweaty is bad.

I just read in M&F that the number of reps, number of sets & weight are far less important than the amount of time.

They recommend that you superset exercises that work different areas of the abs, one after another after another, with no rest in between. Start by working them for 15 minutes: non-stop, then work your way up in 5 minute increments.

As you know, abs wont show until the BF is off. There are times when I can feel some nice round muscle bellies, but can't see them at all because of the overlying water & fat. (ewww)

Counting reps is a way of counting time isn't it?

I can't see how weight is not a factor they are a muscles and should respond the same as say your leg muscles do.

I suppose, depending on your cadence, counting reps could be a way of counting time. I just use a clock.

As for the weight part, I couldn't have agreed more. I had heard to use low weights, high reps, high weights low reps, etc. etc. etc.

The whole issue of M&F this month regards abs. From diet to training to spot reduction. It's an interesting read. I don't know that I would condone it, or buy into it, but like everything - shake things up a bit, change things around & see what you get.
