The simple truth is that you can't do cardio and diet hard w/o losing muscle. It's simply an impossibility, unless of course you step on the dark side. My opinion is try to get as big as you can and then start slimming down. If you are already as big as you are trying to get then start the cutting. You will lose muscle mass, end of story. You can slow this process down by lifting as heavy as you can, getting the right kinds of food in, taking EFA's/BCAA's, and getting your sleep. If you are a disciplined bodybuildier you could get ripped ab's in 12-18 weeks, which isn't a lot of time really. But that requires 60-110 days of absolute perfection. Most people can't hang, and that's a fact dude. You really need to have a specific goal, it's the only way most people can plow through the mental anxiety of contest diets. With this said; do your cardio first thing in the morning, no food. If you're on a Keto-type of diet like myself, then you can do cardio anytime. On a precontest diet Simple Carbs have absolutely no place in your regimine. You don't want to ever delay the fat burning process, ever. That being said; unlike many in here who suggest you take in more fats...dude they better be in capsule form, like EFA's. Most bodybuilders-true hardcore dieting bodybuilders never add fat to their diet. Keep that in mind. Drop the peanut butter dude, I'm doing close to zero carb and i'm not even using peanut butter-and I love the shit. If you are doing your diet with carbs then you will not need dietary fat. If you are an-endomorph or meso-endomorph like myself then do what others like us have done. It took me a long damn time to realize that you have to be 100%, 100% of the time to get abs. END OF STORY. I'm also assuming you don't have abs showing, i'm assuming you don't have a fast metabolism-like most of these other stallions around here do, so don't do what the naturally thin guys do because they have it easier when dropping weight. They have no clue what it is like to be under the gun 24 hours a day. |
