I don't know a thing about football, but go to EliteFTS - Powerlifting and Strength Training Products and Knowledge for Lifters, Athletes, Coaches, and Trainers , then click Articles, then Sports Articles. Lots of cool stuff about sport-specific weight training over there.

I go to a D-III school in Illinois. We use the Iowa program, which to make it simple is something like this (not exact lifts):

Monday and Thursday

Core (Two ab exercises, two sets of both)
Explosive Lift (Clean, Snatch, Hang High Pull)
Squat (Back squat on Monday; front, snatch, or free hand on Thurs)
Pullups(Parallel, Regular, or Chin-up Grip)
Rows (Single arm DB, Double arm DB, Reg. BB, or Rev. BB)
Supplemental Leg (DB or BB Step ups, DB or BB Lunge, Rack Squats, RDLs or Split Squats)
Curls

Tuesday and Thursday

Core (Two ab exercises and one back exercise; two sets of each)
Explosive Lift (Push Press, Push Jerk, Front Push Press, Front Push Jerk, or Split Jerk)
Chest (BB Bench, DB Bench, DB Incline, or BB Incline)
Shoulder (Military or DB Military, both standing)
Leg (BB RDL, DB RDL, Single Leg RDL, or Glute Ham Raises)
Low Back (Superman, Alt. Superman, Single Leg Back Ext., Back Ext., or others)
Close Grip Bench

**I also do shrugs, lateral and front DB raises for shoulders, I'll add more later**
