today while i was at the gym i noticed a guy doing vertical leg press on a smith machine. is it just as effective as on a vertical leg press machine?

NO..if u spend enough time in the gym you will see a lot of strange things..

It siulates the old vertical leg press machines which are not popular anymore. It is also unsafe. Stay away from that guy and his excersize.
