Currently I am doing 155 for 5 reps and 3 sets for flat bench. I am wondering if I should ramp the weights up instead of keeping them the same. Can someone write me up a quick workout something like 10, 8, 6. Also when i incline i have a sharp pain in my left shoulder so i am stopping for a while

although rkl0165 was being sarcastic, Roccodart440 is a great source for how to gain strength.
One thing I've noticed from teaching weight training courses in high school is that most students did not have very good form to begin with. While most magazines suggest that your elbows are 90 degrees from your sides, try a slightly smaller angle, say 80 degrees, it will help with the shoulder pain

certainly wasnt for Rocco...I meant that another chest thread right after the whole chest issue had just been thoroughly discussed and ended up with ROCCO giving great advice to everyone..the jerking sign was for the guy who started new thread on chest...I know Rocco gives great advice and I thought a new thread on same subject was disrespectful to ROCCO if I offended u or ROCCO I am deeply sorry..

ok you are at 155x5.

One of the problme with you guys getting stronger is you can't lay on the bench and do the same thing all the time or create a training cycle, wehich most of you don't do anyway and create it based on one variation of a movement. YOu can but the end will find you and you will plateu.

If inclines are hurting you stay off of them. 3 work sets is enough for the one variation.

I would like you top try something that worked for me once upon a time.

95x15
135x10
145x8
155x6
165x3
125x12
95x25

Lower cable flys
2 sets of 15 reps

Front plate raise
2-4 x15

Rope pushdowns
4-6 sets of 10-15 reps.

Every week add alittle weight to at least one of your bench sets and possibly to the tricep excersize.

Good luck.
