Anywhere from 3-6. For me this is what I do with chest. 3 presses and 2 flyes. I do about 5 excercises for each large group and maybe four for smaller ones.

It really depends on the group. Chest has upper and lower so I do decline dumbell press along with decline and regular press, then incline flyes and normal flyes. Biceps you might want to do like 2 or 3 excercises and a isolation excercise. You'r range should vary. Lower than 6 is good for strength gains, but if you go for something with 3-6 reps that means that you can at leat hit 3 reps and at most get to six and nothing higher. 6-10 is good for building up the muscles. But remember, a weight that you can get at least six time but is too heavy to go over ten.

EXPERIMENT, the answer is different for everyone learn about ur body. finding what works for u is is one of the most rewarding things in bodybuilding...use the weights u use as ur measure of progression...and be systematic(only change one variable at a time).

i used to do 4 exercises for chest 3-5 sets for each, training chest alone once per week, now i use 2-3 exercises for a total of usually 6-9 sets training about once every 5 days i also use fewer reps per set...EXPERIMENT

General rule is 9-12 sets for smaller muscles and 16-20 for larger muscles.

Thats quite a bit for your average joe. Jay Cutler does 20 sets because he can, but usually us "normal" humans should only be doing around 12-15 max for bigger muscles and 6-9 for smaller. Your working smaller groups indirectly when you hit bigger groups ie chest tri's etc. If your doing many sets with a lot of intensity it can easily lead to overtraining.

YOur smaller muscles should be excersized after they have been prefatigued in a core excersize. Example back/bies
, chest/tries etc. SOmetimes this isn't possible b ut after trying vrtually all combos I find this is the best.

If you are just counting worksets, (which I don't. I count warmups too) But...workets only I'd 7 is about the minimum and 20 is about the max. I know that is a huge range but it really depennds on the muscle being worked, the size of it and how many excersizes or variations you do along with what your body needs or can handle.
