wut up yall, i ain't posted in a while but here i go

so i got a friend, actually he is my boss at work, he says he has tried everything to lose weight! i introduced him to the bodybuilding lifestyle and he was interested in how the pros have such command over their bodies, getting big in the offseason and cutting up for the show. i told him what i know of dieting and lifting, which isn't much but the basics, and he lost a considerable amount of weight at the beginning but now he has been at the same weight for about 2 months (260) he is about 6' 2" . he has been consuming his protein, about 220g a day and has cut his complex carbs greatly, eating some after a workout. he is doing basic lifting in the gym mostly upper body stuff like benches and curls and about 30-45min of cardio, i think he goes 3 or 4 times a week. So my point is he asked me what kind of workout he could do to start losing weight, me being small ( 5' 6" 190lbs) i only know how to gain muscle, which means more weight. Any ideas on what i should tell him? Less weight, more reps? More cardio, less lifting?
is he cheating on his diet?(he says he isn't) i would like to help him out. he has come a long way, he has lost about 50lbs so far!! thanks dudes

iyes, i have explained to him that he cannot look at the scale. i have told him that he will actually gain weight if he does what i do, but it will not be from fat. Now that he has lost some fat and is staying relatively the same weight, he just wants to lose the weight, he doesn't care about anything else. he wants me to give him a workout, like sets and reps and type of lifts to do that will start him losing weight again. he does not want to get big, he does not want to spare muscle, he wants to get skinny. i am not down with that but it is what he wants and i just wanna help the guy because he has helped me. Any ideas?

Have him make a journal for a week. Do not give us the diet you gave him, have him actually make a journal of EVERYTHING he consumes and lying will only keep him longer from realizing his goal. He needs to lose 1-2lbs/wk. If it is more than that he is losing mostly water/muscle. He can keep lifting because more lean mass = higher bmr which results in lower bodyweight. If he hasn't already cut out all of the bs like beer, pop, juice he can do that. Does he drink skim milk? Have him drink cold water throughout the day. Good that he eats complex carbs but he should be cutting simple carbs probably not complex but we will see. Also look at fat intake since it is easily converted to bf. Once we see his diet it will be easy to spot where he can improve.
