Hi; I've been getting back into bodybuilding quite seriously for about 3 months now, and I remember awhile ago reading that 2/3 of your arm size comes from the triceps, I assume this therefore means that you will be able to do more weight on pressdowns than on bicep curls. Am I correct in thinking this? and if yes what ratio should I be thinking about for quad-hamstrings?
thanks for the help

Hard to give a solid number due to genetics and where your body is/was at already. I wouldn't focus on ratios as much as focusing on exhausting that muscle group and not overtraining or undertraining.

well I'm at 14kg for bicep curls (single arm); and 16kg for pressdown, but the thing is I don't want my biceps to dominate my arm and make it look strange as I feel like I could increase the weight im curling again; then it would be at 1:1.
Now if ratio's should be kept in mind; I would be needing to boost my pressdown to 24kg to keep them even. Or am I just overanalysing and would be better off letting my body sort itself out.
To give you an idea im 5'10'' 208lbs 12%bf, although ive been out of the bodybuilding game for a few years, ive just left the british army after 8 years so i've not been a couch potato either

Overanalyzing a bit in the wrong areas. Give us a breakdown of what your arm workout looks like. Number of times a week worked along with exercises, sets and reps and we'll go from there.

I would say your overanalizing a lot! If you are working both muscle groups they will grow accordingly with your genetics etc. It's very difficult to measure the difference in strength and use it as a comparison due to the movements themselves. Tricep movements are typically poor angles, except for dips and Closegrip bench which I'm sure you'll do much better if you compare those. If your arms are 20+ inches and you think your triceps are to big that's one thing but at 208lbs I'm sure they are not(unless you have no legs) so I would just work them both hard and I'm sure they will be just dandy! jmho
