I just got done watching the markus ruhl made in germany and he says he only does 3 exercises per body part... but I was wondering if anyone can clear this up for me ... how many times do they train each body part a week ? (twice or once?) ... cause if they go to the gym an train once a week (per body part) with only 3 exercises, how would that provide enough work - i know about overtraining and recovery time (an the gear they use) but i just dont see how this can be enough work to stimulate growth?

Markus Ruhl uses killer volume thru. he does three exerise but does six to eight working set per exerise. Markus trains everything once a week. I've read most of his articles. this is the split he uses
chest
back
off
arms
legs
shoulders

like most pros he does once a week training. the trick that pros do, that i learned is to like you body recover. theres only ronnie and melvin that trains everything twice.

so he ends up doing about 24 sets (assuming 3lifts 8 sets) per body part ... if im doin about 5-6 lifts with 4sets (12,10,8,8 adding weight as i go) - would it be benefitial to add in 1 more set with lower weight just to make sure the muscle is pumped to its fullest potential ? that would'nt push my muscles to close to the overtraining point would it

I am someone who ALWAYS over trained when i was lifting for football and stuff ....so now i am working on my knowledge as to get the most gains for size

thats too much, you dont need to do the same volume as a pro. most pros do 12-9 working sets.. if you really wanted to do more exerises i would suggest cut down the sets to 2 working sets. overtraining is not a going thing. bc your body is in a state were it can't keep up with the repair of the muscle tissues that you made lil tears in during training.. thus your open for geting sick or getting injured.

well what i do is grab medium weight to start with for the 12 reps then go up in weight for 10reps then go up in weight for 8 reps then stay the same or go up for 8 reps

so far this seems like its not to bad ..... i usually do that for pretty much every lift ...i do a 5 day split with ...
Mon Legs
Tues Shoulders
Wed OFF
Thurs Back
Fri Arms
Sat Chest
Sun OFF

me + my friend who i train with are in an out of the gym in about 1 hour

I usually do about 5 diff exercises with that as my routine (the 12,10,8,8) .... Im trying to make my cake and eat it to by doing higher reps an then goin down to a medium rep range ...... usually as far as weight goes i will try an use whatever feels good (feels good = a good strain not pussy weight)

so i guess im asking this question again about me overtraining (now that you know more about my workout) ....
