First of all I gotta say awesome site for advice.

Ok here's my problem. First of all I'm Chinese, so we're generally a lot smaller.
I started out at weighing about 117 pounds 2 years ago, but i have worked out in the past yeaaars ago. killed it at the gym, used a lot of weight gain products, my weight went to 140, max bench went to 2 plates....225 pounds. Basically, since then, my max bench hasn't moved.

Now my weight is still 140, (can't get past that, but that's another issue). everything else went up in strength, dumbell press i can do 90-100 dumbells, shoulder press i use up to 70 pound dumbells, skull crushers i use 110 pounds, and MY MAX BENCH IS STILL 225.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but i 225 is my MAX for 1 or 2 reps. got there in 6 months, and then 2 years later, hasn't changed which is what concerns me so much.
sounds bad but i don't have a regular routine. i go by feel when i go to the gym. would that be the problem? but the thing is that everything else has gone up in strength, and i'm even up to the 100 pound dumbell press now.......bench, hasn't changed

i've slowed it down already. i even tried doing really high reps to break this plateau but nothing's doing it. last couple chest days, i did 135 for 40 reps hoping this would help, but hasn't done much.

look into some powerlifting routines for bench press if you want to increase your max. Lift with weight close to your max and have a spotter there to help you force reps if neccesary. If pure strength is your goal a 2-6 rep range is waht your lookin for.

my normal routine in the last 6 months was a warm-up set of 135 for 15. then i'd do 3 sets of 185 for 6.
recently my strength jumped and now i can do 185 for 10 pretty easy, so i'm now doing 205 for about 6. before i was never able to do 205 for more than 2 reps, and all of a sudden i can do it for 6. not taking any supplements aside from weight gain shakes which ive done for the past 2 years.
this is why i can't figure out why my max bench hasn't changed, while i went from doing 205 for 2 reps to 6 reps now.

sounds like youve made great progress, if you can get 205 for 6 i dont see how you cant bench more than 225... sounds psychological to me. do some work with 215 as well, when those PR's go up so will you bench max

i'm sure you could bench 230 for a rep or 2, just try 2.5 plates on each side and go from there if adding a greater # to your bench is your greatest concern

alright appreciate both suggestions. i'll try 1 or the other today, but i'll figure it out when i hit the gym. at worst, i'll get a spotter and do a couple negatives if i can't handle it.
