Now I have a slightly odd question. Sometimes in the morning when I first wake up or when i've been up but have been lazy all day and not stretched out and everything. I extend my toes out to stretch my calves and then all of a sudden my calves will tighten up really tightly. I mean they really tighten up to a point where it hurts and it can last from anywhere to 10-30 seconds. Afterwords it hurts to walk and it takes like 2-3 days for my leg to get to the point where it doesn't hurt anymore. Has this ever happened to any of you and if it has is there any way to stop it?

I don't really have a diet. I'm going to start one in the summer though. Can you give me a good diet? What food is it that makes it so my calves don't do that.

Yeah, this shit happens to me too sometimes, but in my feet, I guess it's kinda normal, just be careful in the morning, this happens to me alot, especially before goin to bed. Try some stretching exercises it might help.

I don't do it on purpose it's just kinda instinct I guess cause I do it and usually nothing happens but there is just that one time y'know. I get it in my calves and middle of my feet but those don't really hurt. My trainer told me to make sure i'm not getting dehydrated and try to eat some more bananas.

I`m rather new so I don`t profess tobe an expert but.
I was get that for awhile myself,a friend suggested taking a little extra pottasium a couple times aweek. And i`ve been doin an extra warm-up set or 2 before the working sets on my calves. So far so good.
And make sure to get a good but controled stretch at the bottom with any calve raise.

Generally, cramps / spasms like you describe are the result of dehydration or deficiency in one or more vitamins / minerals. A common cause is potassium (hence the suggestion for more bananas. Jalapeno peppers are a good alternative and have a lower glycemic index).

My cure-all recommendation would be to take a multi-vitamin supplement, drink at least a gallon of water a day (regardless of thirst-level) and make sure you get some salt (for water retention).
