Thanx for the advice! I tried everthing for my last back workout and i could really feel the diff. I havent had a good back day like that in awhile where the next day everything was sore. Somebody mentioned that I am overtraining but I dont think so. I have tried not doing as many reps or sets but my body reacts much better to "overtraining".

Overtraining is a bit of a misnomer. Its not really that can be judged from a routine guidline, unless you are doing something really stupid. Besides I see overtraining as doing something wrong with your training rather than actually doing too much.

Heres what i learned quickly into training. Do not pull with your biceps and triceps when doing back pull from the elbow and make sure u get a real good squeeze and hold it for a second. For pulldowns arch ur back slightly, pull from the elbows and bring them down and in you should see results good luck

Here is what I have learnt; Do pullups instead.

""""ok fine you dont like the word isolation.. when i was talking about isolation and the preacher curls i didnt mean using one muscle and having no other assistance from other muscle groups however in the preacher curl movement for example you are only training your biceps and no other muscle can be directly or indirectly involved in curling the weights... yes you have to be braced against the padding but that doesnt mean your using ur back or legs or w/e to get the weight up.... why do i bother explaining this idk.... i think ura smart guy tim and i see your point but i think ur wrong about isolation principles thats all :)
"""

Um. Actually your forearms tend to kick in pretty good with that exercise especially when your fetigue levels reach a point that you'r subliminally squeezing the bar.

Biceps may be the main focus of the lift and the body part your are targeting but ANY other muscle placed under stress will also benefit from the exercise. Hence what I'm thinkin the problem with the isolation remark is comin from.

Pull overs are often a neglected used exercise but they have served me well. I am also reverse grip pull downs fan. Also slow the movement down and squeeze at the bottom of the movement. U could try negative trainning and exhausting the negative portion during the exercise to complete the movement

Yes I have and it's sad to see that almost every discussion turns out like this.
