well, i have his "modern guide to bb" and its mostly workouts that other bb do...not to say it isnt good, b/c it is...

genetics play a huge role in your look, not the bb you follow...of course, just b/c i do everything that Flex Wheeler does, doesnt mean i'll look anything like him...

How you train shouldn't be influenced by how any pro trains. Use the knowledge available and set up training that suits you and your body, commitments, work, family, etc.

If it is purely academic interest, I have read an Ironmind article on his training throughtout the year.

remember Arnold was on AAS and back then they didn't have all the science like we do today. This was overtraining even for the BB's of today...

I'm not going to type out the entire program but this is what his chest workouts looked liked. Chest was done Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Barbell Bench Press 4 sets: 1 to 15 rep warm-up;
sets of 10, 8, 6, 4 - stripping last 2 sets
Barbell Incline Bench Press same as above
Dumbell Flys 3 sets of 10, 8, 6
Dips 3 sets of 15, 10, 8
Pullovers 3 sets of 15 reps each

arnold trained to overtrain... i wouldn't suggest it to any one. i think ronnie would overtrain on arnold's six days a week and a double split at that. i think arnold would be bigger if you learnd to rest a bit.

Arnold program would still be over-training even if you split it up between two people. Plus, Arnold didn't eat the same way nor as much as guys do today.

bottom line is arnold was wildly driven and would succeed no matter what. He made his training, diet, and everything work to become number one any way he could. He worked hard to become a hollywood star, and now he's the governor, its just amazing he does anything he puts his mind to

It would have been interesting to see what he would have looked like if he had continued competing for another 10 to 20 years using the new techniques, diet and training etc.
