I used to have hams on a seperate day when doing a PUSH PULL split. Just the compound exercises for everything and it would be for legs:

PUSH:

Squat
Calf Raise

PULL:

SLDL

i used to train them in seperate day .. but i found that isn't working for me .. IMO u must include Hams and Quadz in same day .. since Hams get involved to Quadz exersices .. and it's already have a good pump from squat - leg presss and etc

I work quads and hams on different days and it works out great for me, but of course everyone has their preference. My reasoning behind this is when I go to the gym I concentrate on destrying that one muscle and not have to hope those squats or leg presses I did were enough to burn the crap out of my hams. I do not mean to put down anyone's workout if they do this, but this is just my method AND my madness.

lunges don't actually work the hamstrings as much as you think. I was still able to do them when I had a grade two tear in my hammy.

Doing curls alone is not enough for the hammys. You actually need to work the hammys with hip flexion as well. Good mornings, stiff deads, romanian deads, etc are all good examples.

... good word man, hip flexation is important, depending on how you do the lunges though they can be very beneficial to hams

THat workout is very quad dominant.
By doing that you are giving more volume to your calves than to your hammys!
