i got a real nagging problem right now and i need some opinions on it.

i trained my calves really long and really heavy, and they've been sore for about 3 days now...they dont seem to be easing up on the pain so i thought i should not hit the gym until the pain completly goes away (its not actual pain but after-workout, next-day soreness)

but then i thought about the rest of me...should i train other body parts only just enough to stop them from degenerating or would that ruin the whole process of recovery and growth?

takes a while for your muscles to "degenerate" ehe.. if its only ur calves that hurt that bad then u should work out the rest! U can also try doing soem calv exercise, some lightweight to see how it feels. U might wanna try stretching it carefully.

You could train the rest of your body. I'd even go so far as to say you could train your calves. If the calves are sore for many days, then you probably need to do some light sets to promote growth and repair.

THe only reason training would inhibit your growth and repair would be if you were in an overtaxed state. Sore calves won't do this.

gotta stretch your calves out man. And Tim is right if there that sore for that long hit the weights light for them, but you can always train other muscles while calves are sore man. Same with abs, or say if your biceps and back are sore, is that going to keep you from training your chest/triceps the next day? I think not.
