hey guys i have a quick question and i need some of your opinions, about 4 weeks ago my side delts looked great and full, but within the last few weeks of training them, they haven't got bigger infact they have gotten smaller, the side deltoid muscle doesn't fill out my shirts as much as they use to and to fix this, i tried higher reps, then switched back to lower reps with heavier weights, but nothing has happended over these last couple of sessions! i thought this may have been caused by overtraining but then it couldn't be because i train them speciffically once a week and know more than that, any tips would be great and i would really appreciate any tips or advice thanks to anyone who replies

this should in the training section :) ... BTW it's all depand on ur genes bro .. and for stimulating ur side delts .. u have to do lateral raises .. i do think that pressing movments for shoulders are good to add meat and thickness in ur boulders :)

had a similar problem. and laterals were giving me the ****s, so i switched to wide grip upright rows, emphasising the side delt rather than traps

You say it has only been over a couple of sessions. Which while I know that seems like a long time it isn't really and you could just put it down to a couple of bad sessions.
If you aren't already, aside from the suggestions above, use DB's for your overhead presses instead of a BB, can hit the side delt better with them if you bring the DB's down to the side of your delts instead of to the front as is the case with the BB!

keep in mind also that overtraining is a function of the central nervous system and not specific muscles...

probably ur hiting a platuooo....well dont expect 2 get huge in a couple of days takes alot of time a effort.....for delts behind the neck press puts extra stress on ur medial delt and rear than on the front but becarfull u can **** up ur joints if u dont do it corectly.....also try db side laterals and other variations of db, cable, and or machine side laterals 2 really focus on ur medial delts cuz this is wut will give u shoulder width but of course dont forget 2 hit the front and rear delts as well........

It's fairly easy to do too much delt work IMO, only a small muscle

Pressing should help the most

I had the same problem, what I found helped me out was starting my shoulder workout with 1 arm db side laterals. I like to hold onto something with my free hand, you should be able to use quite a bit more weight then doing them both arms at the same time.

I actually cheat a bit for my last few sets and go as heavy as possible, while still using as much side delt as I can.

Give it a try, hope it helps!
