All I see is powerlifter over-eating, like extra fat helps you lift more. Dave G benched 700 @ 320lbs, now easily benches 750 @ 275lbs. The days of using the "fat" for PLs is over. PLs typically dont lift like BBers and eat too many cals. Not beneficial. http://readthecore.com/200601/matt_r.htm

I think Mariusz Pudzianowski is a good example of powerlifters don't need to be fat. Most WSM come in at 330ibs or so while Pudzian comes in at 290...

Is he a powerlifter?

All I know is that he competes in strongman shizzle, but he also does PL stuff? And...does he win anything in those then

Ok, I got a theory, you guys might call it ramblinbg though.

Getting fat --> Big bones. I don't know for sure if this true, but al former fat guys seem to have big bones, maybe their bones respond to the heavy weight they have to cary around? Big bones --> Good leverage? Does that make any sense?

^ I don't think I'd doubt that. Plus the fat cells help support the muscle cells hence one of the reasons for bulking and increased weight lifts.
