i was having an argument with a few friends about how lifting with a lot of reps does not help u get cut at all and a diet and cardio is what really gets u cut. I just wanted someone to give me some info. so i could shove it in there face.

lesson bro best thing for fat loss of course diet and cardio......but i think u could also get some how lean from high rep for example supersets suks your lungs out like cardio does....so best thing for cutting phase i think is to do higher reps but also keep the intensity high along with diet and cardio......

cardiovascular exercise means that it raises the heart rate, causing blood to circulate more quickly around the body and deliver more oxygen to the muscles.

any exercise that elevates your heart rate to at least 50% of maximum level for a sustained period of time is considered "cardio"

The only way to get cut is to burn more calories than you consume.

performing high reps can help you with your cutting, but cardio and diet is the main ingredient for getting shredded.

It can, but only if you are on a diet.

I really don't believe that high reps will burn enough calories to do any difference.
Unless you'd take 20 reps for instance in deadlifts (or power clean & press) with 30 secs (or even less) rest between sets.

I agree, the different is so minimal in total caloric expendature, plus by dropping the weight and sudddenly doing higher reps you will lose nervous system adaptations you have made. You shouldn't lift weights to get cut, you lift weights to build and preserve muscle, up the cardio and decrease the calories if you want to cut.

Yeah, Johny Bravo is right on when he says that his dong will be striated if high reps bring out definition, so would the forearms, but ovbiously high reps don't do much. By the way, the dong isn't a muscle, it can't be striated, but you get the point.
