Just curious but do you have to be sore to know that you got a good workout the day before?

No.

DOMS has very little to do with progress and muscle development.

Nope, u do not have to be sore. matter fact its better if your not bc your keeping your body undertrained whichc is what u want, u wanna be border line overtrained, but stay on the understrained side. brings far better growth than overtraining.

It's more important to consider if you are sore before you workout. By far the most neglected/ dangerous practice in Bodybuilding is to train when a person has not recovered.

if you experience soreness the next day from a workout and if you train any two days in a row - which is very common, then you're bound to feel sore going into a workout. So, it's fine to workout a bodypart if it's not going to involve (to enough of a degree) your muscle groups which are already sore and recovering. So, yes it's absolutely fine to workout your legs if your chest is sore and vice versa. You just have to ensure that your split accomadates for this - for example ensuring that you don't do Triceps the day before chest (if your tris are always sore the next day)

I rarely get sore, Ill get tender. The only parts recently that really get sore are my Lats, Traps, and Neck. Everything else will be very very slight, but I have no problem with that.

DOMS is different for everybody, you dont have to be sore to reach your goal.

DOMS= Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or that ache you feel 24-48 hours after doing something demanding of your muscles.
