Hi guys sort of weird question but wanted to ask you what type of methods do you guys employ to increase your intensity in the gym. Do you guys take a special pre work out drink or do something else. What i tend to during my work out in order to do heavy lifts is to get angry and to channel that anger into my lifts.

Secondly how do you guys combat faatigue whilst working out cos on many occasions i seem to get tired quite quick when i do heavy lifts. As you guys all know that when fatigue sets in it can seriously effect your form and how much can lift. So how can you condition the body to last longer without collapsing after doing 3-4heavy excercises.

Take two shots of expresso wait half an hour. Works for me aggressive as hell. Visualisation, A good music tape will help as well.

Fatigue use a spotter to keep going, or employ rest pause, drop sets ect. A set is not over until u wish u where dead

Geting angry is a good one. Visualising your muscles growing before your eyes is another good one!

For fatigue, I know it can be draining when doing the big exercises. Providing you are getting the right food in before your session, a simple high cabr drink may halp and also just take each set at a time. Don't think you've got to get through a ton of sets even if you have, just say to yourself you've got this 1 set to do - that's it, and puot everything into it. Even if you get nothing else done then it's better to do one good set than a bunch of half arsed ones!

A good one I use is visualising how i want to look and say to myself if I can lift this then im on my way, keep your attitude positve and listen to your body. On days when your just not feeling it then step back because you might be doing yourself more harm and be on the verge of overtraining, which if your natural you will know is a huge problem for most of us.

If I'm a bit flat after work I have taken the caffeine tablets or listened to my favourite rev up track (Cowboys from Hell - Pantera). Caffeine works for me as I rarely have any. Pantera has never failed to get me a PB.

Pantera - Cowboys from Hell (entire album, but epecially title track)
Anthrax - Inside Out (from No. 8)
Filter - Title of Record (any of the heavier tracks)
Stabbing Westward - Save Yourself (from album I can't remember name of....)

This depends on the reason.

If you have not done any real volume work, do some. There is nothing like 8-10 sets in a row with 30 seconds rest to force your muscles to build up some stamina! Be prepared for killer DOMS.

If your CNS is wearing thin, do multiple sets of three. Not your best 3RM. Three slow and well controlled reps at the heaviest weight you can hoist. Keep doing the same weight every 3-5 minutes till you can't get another rep. This will kill your CNS and force better fiber recruitment.

Yeah caffine tablets are good if u are a big coffee drinker. It is important when using any caffine beverage or tabs to wait 30min. Before this the actual effects have not taken place although some claim they have this is largely due to the placebo effect due to being a regular user
