Hey guys
I was wondering, if the underhand barbell rows. better in building better lats then overhand?? I've been using overhand bb rows for years. I've gotten good resuits. I just wanted to know if the 'yates rows" was better bc alot of the pros with backs uses the reverse grip.
Thanks guys
Calibber

I feel like I can get a better squeeze with the underhand grip, and the weight doesnt get out in front of me at all. Personally I think its better, you should give it a try, youll have to lower the weight a little but I think you'll like it better.

Depends more on where you pull to I believe. If you pull to the chest, as you are want to do with the pronated grip, there will be more traps involvement than if you pull to the stomach/hip, as when supinated grip is used.

i like the underhand row .. u can feel the hitting of the lats harder .. but the biceps got involved more in this kind of grip

IT"S DUE TO RANGE OF MOTION. THE MORE RANGE THE MORE STIMULATION.

BUT ON THE REVERSE FLIPSIDE TO THIS IS IF U TAKE AN OVERHAND GRIP THEN U CAN LEAD TO HEAVIER WEIGHT LIFTED AND THUS MORE STIMULATION.

SO IS ONE BETTER THAN THE OTHER... THE ANSWER IS NO

^^ I don't believe you can intrinsically lift more with an overhand grip than an underhand one at all. It's all down to consistent training. I have done both but as Maka pointed out, I use underhand the majority of the time. I feel there is greater ROM and it hits the meat of the lats more when brought to the waist. Overhand pulled to a slightly higher point on your body I feel more across my whole back.
