What a great list of arbitutary numbers.....

My advice is pick the activity that suits you. If you hate running then no point doing that. I hate swimming so I don't do that. I like jumping rope and hunting my own food. Find what you like and do it, worry less about how many calories it burns (which is going to vary greatly), and worry more about doing it regularly and consistently with the correct amount of intensity.

Tim is right though - you've got enjoy what you do otherwise you won't stick at it or apply yourself enough. Running is all well and good if you are willing to apply yourself, otyherwise you may aswell do something else that you'll put the intensity into!

Running on the treadmill

Running 3 minutes @ 4.0

Then sprinting for 3 minutes @ 6.0

It makes 30 minutes go by like nothing.
