ive never tried it but i hear the downside is 2 much stress on ur joints, so the risk of injury is greater. Think of the likes of dorian yates, his training was very much like mentzers n injury got the better of him.

I've watched Mentzers video, where he and Ray train that Markus guy. its pretty interesting but they only use machines and markus is kinda dorky.
Also his heavy duty writings are interesting... but I think in the end he was kinda bitter and very narrow-minded about other possibilities.
My workouts last 20 minutes and I would call them intense... but if they are heavy duty... who knows
go with what works and forget the fancy names.

I train "Heavy Duty" all the time, for my level anyway.

But if you just train heavy then your going to get stiff and
have prity bad endurance.

So i always mix it with high rep light weight traing.

Exactly there are so many theories out there but find out what works for u. I stopped trainning with ego (eg how much u bench ect) and changed my attitude to how much lean mass can I build.

At the end of the day the goal is to build muscle. If ur not making progress then u should be re-thinking ur program. Thats why I like Mentzer if u look into his program he always had an answer or a way to get over plateau's. Truly ahead of his time

mmm....i train 3 days a week, but on each day its a different part.
i dont believe im cutting short of anything, nor have i had any injuries training his way. but i guess it boils down to this then ayy:

To be honest Heavy duty theory is a bit nutz but I'm crazy. I think it is worth reading especially the techniques even if ur a volume advocate because u can use a variety of techniques to extend a set

this gets me thinkin, im curious to know if anyone actually takes thier set muscle groups to momentary muscular failure the way its described in the book.

and how effective people think it is, and if they would impliment it into thier routines somehow, and HOW they would....just a few more thoughts.

P:S im not to far from implementing the "super advanced heavy duty" into at least one of my exersizes..i just need to find a competent training partner/spotter
