After a series of testing performing on me, it was revealed regardless of my impressive Dls and squats that my core muscle strength was not adequate or perhaps the situp test was just invalid. Anyway it brought to my attention that mindless reps of situps isn't going to build strength in the core... so the idea of "fitness balls" has always seemed lame to me. As a bodybuilder as long as I have all the necessary cuts in my abs it is suffice and Im happy. Just being tested in a group and recieving less than adequate results makes the physique-boy seem just a pretty boy with not functional strength or power. After some thought and some words being relayed in my head from past conversation with training professionals that core strength results in power increase everywhere in the body or the ability to increase strength elsewhere in the body...

So is building core muscle power a necessary evil, will it just come with training. For those of you with a wealth ok knowledge on the subject please explain on how it is developed.

Thanks

friend of mine is into the core training "fad" atm
i think its needed as a form of rehab or as somehting like a specific problem as fas as bbding goes i dont hear ppl saying that their weak abs are interferring with their whole workouts
tho some prople are just prone to having weak and elongated abs as a result of their genetical posture and that cant be helped
in what way is it inadequate animal?
id say it will just come like just becuase u have a super strong core if u dont lift weights doesnt mean u lift more than someone with weak core who can squat 400
just try it and see if it really does makea difference otherwise why do it if it isnt helping you
i hope this can be a bit of help tho i ont have experience or the knowledge...

If you train your core your lifts will improve through proper stabilisation of the whole body but also through neurological impulses, not only that but you will also lessen your chances of getting injured especially in the back region due to your abs/core holding you back in poper alignment not a flipping belt like most people seem to think...

Now if people are overly worried about developing the core and it causing an increase in waist size then the easiest solution is to do regualr sessions of vacuum poses to tighten the internal muscles and so pull in your internal organs into their correct places and back up inot the ribcage area....

Get yourselves an ab"evil" wheel and add a couple of sets of these to your routines, start of slow doing then from a kneelling position then when you feel strong enough try them standing but becarefull as you could soon be eating carpet if you try to run before you can walk.....

something that will really get core muscle strength and power is pilates. i admit that at first i thought they were gay and pointless but we've done them for awhile in football and every says the same thing. they work

Ok core muscles are important bc if u have strong back and weak abs you will develope lower back problems bc your abs will pull on you lower back. I suggest full ab routine evry other day. U use your lower back much more than u think, its a stablizer for tons of exercises and a majority of people dont train like it does.

Core power is necessary, but your probably ovber training back as it is just using it as a stablizer in so many other exercises. Post your routine and i will better be able to help u bro. u might just need to bring your abs up to par with lower back, but please post a routine Animal.
