If you go heavy like me, up to and over 1,000lb raises standing, you should be getting these huge red stretch marks across your traps and onto the delts, does someone know what these are from?
I heard they was from your T-shirt seams pressing into your skin, then i heard it was dye from the T-shirt running from bodyheat and steam, well these can't be right as i get them in summer as well when training with no shirt - i was also told they are micro veins that burst from the weight and its nothing to be worried about.

I don't know for fact what they are from, i can get them from squatting as well across the traps, they don't hurt and they are gone in a few days but they always come back again.

Any ideas? Or know for fact?

heavy weight putting pressure on your traps and shoulders. As you said yourself blood vessels tearing which shows on the skin.

I wouldn't worry about it, your body can heal itself anyway.

I reckoned the same, it must be the microscopic veins. Cheers mate.

I've always found calves to be a funny thing when it comes to weight and I'm not the only one. I can be doing reps with 200lb and it seems hard but then can add another 200lb and get the same reps out, then add 200lb and still get a few reps out. I suppose they are such a hardworking muscle throughout the day that they can take quite a beating and are able to handle a lot of weight!

I get them when I do even 200 pounds when I usually do 180Kgs. They go away in 4-5 days.

From the corner of the gym where the BIG men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty-fives, A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees. Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack Chalking his hands and monstrous back, said, "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, The trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'." — DALE CLARK, 1983

I can only get 4 or so good reps at this kind of weight and then i'm out of steam. I find them easy yet i find leg pressing that kind of weight difficult.
