Thank you to all for these posts. They make my day. Everytime I think about taking it easy or something I think about the good words you people say and it spurs me on. Wish my legs were better to stand alongside my arms as you will see from this session from today.
Firstly, explanation: I've been working my squats up pretty steadily for the past few weeks but have been keeping my legs close together (still going right down and at 6' 1"), and the past couple of sessions I've noticed my knees moving inwards so to rectify any potential muscle imbalance I thought I'd drop the weight back and go with a wider stance. So here it was:
Smith Squat: 155lb x 10, 200lb x 10, 265lb x 8, 285lb x 5, 295lb x 2
Smith Lunges: 155lb x 8, 220lb x 8
SLDL: 240lb x 10, 330lb x 8, 365lb x 3
Seated Squat/Press: 330lb x 10, 440lb x 12, 450lb x 8
Leg Curl: 165lb x 10 (3 sets)
SUPERSET WITH
Leg Ex: 155lb x 10 (3 sets)
Calf Press: 285lb x 15, 385lb x 10, x 8 then drop sets.
Disappointed that my squat was so much lower for so few reps, but I'll just have to work back up to it again. Did the leg press with wider stance too.
Don't understand why my squat numbers are so low, when my lunges I think are pretty reasonable, as are my deads. Odd - and annoying.
