Thanks for looking in Rocky, q80, and xtweak! This proves how cool most of the people on this board are. My lifts are currently beyond terrible and posters still give me props. It's amazing!

Today's training:

Smith Machine Squats: 10@135, 10@175, 10@205
Calf Press: 15@180, 15@270, 15@360, 15@410
Lying Leg Curl: RP Set - 10@135, 4@135, 3@135

Squatting 301 for 8 less than four months ago is a distant memory, but I'll take the 10@205 over the 6@225 I did two weeks ago. It's back to Korea and better, cheaper Australian steak next week, so hopefully the numbers will be going up soon.

Maybe I'm mistaking, but wasn't DC the program in which you only trained each muscle with only one set?

yea man this board is good, best one I've found. I used to post at GetBig once in a great while but that board blows some hippo nutts.

Them numbers will get up there in no time man. Your still strong, just dont tell yourself that lol. Gotta never be satisfied, that way youll always be motivated and driven to do your best in the gym.

In a few months from now youll be stronger than youve ever been no doubt man, keep up the good work.

Gotta give proprs regardless of the wight. If it's what you can do it's what you can do. To be honest you're a better man than many who losing so much of their strength would be really disillusioned, so you're still battling on!
Hope it keeps going up when you move again!

You've got a good philosophy on lifting, xtweak. And you're right on about GetBig, never read so much negativity.

Rocky, I'm willing to bet you're a heck of a nice guy in real life, always encouraging.

And you are correct, JornT. My program is not currently DC, as right now I'm just trying to recover from five weeks of dieting followed by five weeks off. If you check back at the beginning of my log more than half of it was DC at that point. I'd do enough sets to get warmed up and then do an RP set on a mass-building exercise and then call it quits for that muscle group. I am still undecided if DC is more effective than Max-OT or Weider's Principles. My gains seem to be tied more to how much and how often I eat than to what kind of training program I follow.

Friday's Training:

Hammer Strength Shoulder Press - 10@90, 10@140, 7@160
Side Laterals - 10@35, drop, 5@30, 15 sec 8@30
Hammer Strength Shoulder Press to the front - 10@90, 7@140
Dips - 10, w/45lbs - 10, w/70lbs - 7
One-Arm Extensions - 10@35

Saturday's Training:

Wide-Grip Pulldowns - 10@90, 10@140
Chins - RP Set - w/25lbs - 9, 3, BW 4
DB Rows - 10@40, 10@75
BB Shrugs to the Rear - 12@185, 10@225, 9@275
DB Curls - 10@25, Drop Set - 4@55, 4@45, 4@35

That's all until perhaps Saturday. I'm hoping to find a gym in my own neighborhood in Daegu. The only one I've found to my liking is downtown, which worked when I lived in East-Central Daegu in '04, but not so well last year living on the Western edge of town. This time I'll be in the South of the city, which I've only seen once more than two years ago. So I think I'll wander around Friday or Saturday and try to find a good one, if not, I'll be taking the bus every day.

Thanks for the props, xtweak. I'm at a new gym in my new neighborhood, Jisan-dong, back in the rich area of Daegu, Susung-gu. Other than lacking a dip machine the place has pretty much everything I need.

Yesterday's Training:

Incline Hammer Strength - 12@110, 10@154, 10@198,
RP Set@231 - 8, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1, Partial
Calf Press - 15@176, 15@264, 15@352, 15@440

The incline machine has an independent hammer for each arm instead of the connected kind, which gives me a better pump I think.

Mildly connected to my workouts here is that my job situation is not looking good. The last foreigner to complete a contract here did so in 2002, so after they lie to you on the phone and through the recruiter you're pretty much stuck since they hold your visa. You can resign and cost yourself about $2000 in lost wages that they'll refuse to pay and then a few hundred more making a visa run to Japan on your own dime. So I'll see how long I last at this school that went from 132 students to 83 in the two months before I got here (I believe they hired another foreign teacher, me, in a last-ditch effort to keep the English portion of the school from going under. As far as I know their science and math departments are doing fine.) My "furnished" apartment was recently abandoned and never cleaned, so it's dirty as hell and my fridge smells bad. And for a 25-year old male to think something is dirty, it must really be foul. At least the weather's nice.

Thanks for the compliments nothin' but a peanut and q80. I'll do my best to catch up with you two on the weights someday!

I guess I shouldn't complain about this situation too much Rocky, since come August my pre-grad school life is erased and Carolina cut me a sweet deal. It's at least half my fault for coming back here for a few months when I could have stayed with Mom and Dad and worked a temp job in NC. But my dumb ass wanted to bank a little more coin and I think I may have ended up going to the Korea well one time too many.

But on the plus side here I do think the gym is working out nicely and now that I'm stuffing myself with Australian top sirloin steak, grilled chicken, and brown rice flakes my strength has shot up quite a bit. I hope by the time I leave here to be at 195-200 and retain 7%BF.

As for you being a nice guy, if you're not you do a good imitation of one on the net.

Today's Training:

Wide-Grip Pulldowns - Warm-ups - 12, 10, 10
Chins - RP Set - w/33lbs - 8, 3, 2 drop to BW - 4, 3, 2, 2, 1
Seated Rows - 12@110, 10@176, RP Set @220lbs - 12, 5, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1
EZ-Bar Curls - 10@64, 10@86, RP Set@108lbs - 8, 2
Cross-Chest Curls - RP Set@55lbs - 8, 3, 2

Hey man - you do what you think is right! You never really know how it will turn out till it's happened! You seem to be taking it with good humour though, and that was another solid session too!
