Alright, I'm gonna start a journal now. I am powerlifting, and am preparing for a little gym bench meet on March 5th. I am aiming for a 170 bench.

Here is my routine:

Day 1
Deadlift 5x5
Bent Over BB Row 3x8
Power Shrug 3x8
1 Arm DB Row 3x5

Day 2
Bench 5x5
Incline Bench 3x8
CloseGrip Bench 3x8
Skull Crusher 3x8

Day 3
Squat 5x5
SLDL 4x8
Calf Raise 3x8
Weighted Abs 5x8
HyperExtensions 3x8

Any suggestions?

Woo HOO! I am so happy with this workout, I got my squat form near perfect (wasn't pushing chest up far enough), and finally figured out how to do SLDLs thanks to the good people of this site (thank you ).

Squat 1/185/5, 1/185/4 (lmao, shorts ripped on this set, had to stop, luckily I carry a spare for occasinos like this), 2/185/5, 1/185/4 (just couldn't make last one)

SLDL 4/135/8

Calf Raise 3/400/8 (pays to be a fat guy all your life)

Haha, thanks man. I think my squat has been suffering because of bad form, but I fixed that, so expect it to soar soon. The deadlift is where I'm really shining though (around 300 max now, made 275 3x3 a little while ago).

I'm about 5'9 (I hope ), and about 200lb, but am fairly overweight.

Lol, yes, squatting is so much fun. Didn't like it too much when I knew I had the form wrong, but now that it is half decent, they rule. The rush of fear when you are at the bottom of the lift, in the hole, right before you blow out, is amazing, expecially when you don't know if you can make it or now.

Also, please not my weights are in pounds, so aren't that impressive.

However, thank you for all the complements.

I'm now going to modify my squat day a bit, as I don't have much DOMS in my quads and calves, which I almost always did on my last routine. So, I'm adding 3x8 box squats, and 1 more set of calf raises, to see how that goes.

I'd get that too...Doms would go away after a few weeks into a cycle, but started a 5x5 last one and DOMs killed all the way through...loved it so much I kept the 5x5 for squats and deads.

Right now, very wide, PLing basically. But I do have to change up a bit, as I think I'm doing it wrong lol. It just doesn't feel as natural as any other lifts.

Thanks for comments.
