I like and I don't like having a training partner. It always helps for motivation reasons, but I find myself talking way too much inbetween sets. I'm just a chatty cathy
I feel ya on the chatting thing. Plus, my training partner today is really philosophical and thinks about life a lot, so we get talking about that. Sometimes I just tune him out and do a set while he's talking, or I just turn the music up. Do you work out at a gym, or do you have a gym at your house?

I'll die before I have a cheat meal every day!

I work out at my university gym. I know tons of people their, so it's hard for me to not talk to them lol, but I've been getting better about that. When I'm not at school, I go a gym that's about 15 minutes away specifically because I know nobody there.

Haha, it happens, man. I think the best time to talk is between exercises, not sets. Do you like going to gym, or do you wish you had your own?

Thanks, Mike. How is the cut coming along?

Thanks, Jake. I owe a lot of it to Zir Red. He's posted a lot about the proper form, NLP, etc. So, a lot my gains are from information I've read from him.

Wow, we're complete opposites, in that respect. Sometimes I skip school just to have a day alone. I go for walks at work, just to be alone. Plus, workouts are my time.

Thanks again, HP. Haha, Zir has a study for everything he says! It's ridiculous.

I guess I put that the wrong way, trust me, I love having alone time, I actually cherish it. But I just need to be in that gym environment to get a good lift if that makes sense.

Oh, I getcha, Phil. Maybe it's just because I love blaring music while I lift, so I'm better on my own.

That's good to hear, Mike. Haha, you could've done keto with meee!

Justtt got done with legs. I'm really tired today, for some reason. I tried a new way of holding the bar for front squats. Instead of resting it on my shoulders, I held it more like a clean. It felt awesomeeee...

5 minutes on the treadmill
Dynamic stretches
Front squats
45x13x2
75x8 (warm-ups)
115x6
125x6
135x4
145x3

SLDL
155x6
185x6
225x6
245x4 Personal best

Calf raises
135x6 (feel set)
185x8
3 deep breaths
185x6
3 deep breaths
185x4-drop- 135x8
3 deep breaths
135x6
3 deep breaths
135x4-drop-BWx15

I dunno why, I just felt like doing my calf raises like that. I just didn't feel like doing a couple of sets, so I just did one super intense set. It hurt like a bitchhh. I was stretching them out during the deep breaths, too. That PB was for you, HP!

Thanks, guys.

It's basically just an adjustable bench that you can attach spotters to the back, too (for squats, shrugs, etc.), an olympic bar, a bunch of plates, a lat pulldown machine that also has a low cable pulley. I have tons of handles for that. Some straps and hooks laying around. Then I have dumbbells that you add weight to. It's really nothing special, just the basics. But it gets the job done, for sure. And, of course, my two speakers with a sub and an iPod adapter.

Week days, I just wrap the racks in towels, so when I rack the bar it doesn't clank. Music wise, it's just headphones.
On the weekends, I sleep in reletively late most of the time, and my parents are up at like 8 or 9, so, there's no conflict.

Alright, here's how tomorrow is going down. I'll be taking a fiber supplement, and I'll throw in some more veggies (mostly baby spinach). I'm excitedddd! I just made it in Excel, to make it easier. If anybody wants me to just type it up, just say so.

Sheesh, learn to use macros. Amatuer.

Diet looks good, but I'm no keto expert.

Haha, Mike, I know the feeling. It's hard, because my head was killing me, and I was looking in my refrigerator thinking "damn, orange juice would totally fix this headache. It also sucks because carbs are so damn convenient!

Thanks, Qwert. I never use my age as an excuse, it's all about how badly you want it. Do you have a log? If so, just hit me with a link, I'll definitely follow it.

Cork, I thought I read one of your posts saying that you tried keto before, and loved it. You just found it difficult to stick with. Thanks for stopping by, bro.

So far, I loveee the new foods. I wake up excited to eat breakfast. I do miss apples and orange juice, though. My diet got messed up yesterday, sadly. I had to work until like 9:30. I slammed down two shakes with a ton of olive oil. Today will be better, promise. Yesterday I felt reallyyy tired, and fell asleep in school a lot. Today is a lot better so far. But one thing that sucks is that I'm reallyyyy hungry all of the time. I guess that means more veggiessss.

I was reading somewhere that keto usually takes about 2 weeks to get used to. And I love falling asleep in school

Yeah I know the post you're referring too... it's embarassing to look at my posts from all the way back then. I didn't know anything about bodybuilding and I was an idiot, haha. It's like how one of KM's first posts was how to make his arms bigger. (Don't tell him I told you that, LOL)

Now that I know a ton more information about diets, keto would be easy to stick to for now (I actually ran a keto for my very first contest prep for 4 months). But you're right, the hardest part about it is the convenience of carbs. They are everywhere.

Haha, it's all good, man. We all grow and evolve with bodybuilding. You have to start somewhere to get anywhere, I suppose. That's actually why I didn't post whenever I first joined. I thought people would tell me I'm dumb.

How did you do the final week up to your contest, or even the day of/before? I always hear about carb loading the week before, but I assume you can't do that with keto. So how would you come in looking full, but not get to the point of being flat?

And, Phil, I actually feel better today. My head doesn't hurt all that bad, but the hunger is definitely still there.

Well the keto I followed was "The Cut Diet" by Scivation. They had a carb load plan that I can't quite remember. You can check out the book by Googling it.
